Art Auction Raises 6,000 Volunteer Hours for Local Charities

Vancouver's first Timeraiser event was held at the Roundhouse Thursday September 25.  Over 300 people came to support their local community.  Timeraiser is a part silent auction, part volunteer fair that is held annually to raise volunteer hours for non profit organizations and funds for emerging artists.  Folks got to browse around booths set up by various groups and learn about the many ways that their hard earned "Hours" could be put to good use.

Static's Kris Krug donated a photo to be auctioned off.  At the end of the night Kris's photo earned 100 volunteer hours for some lucky charity. Until the winner has completed the donated hours the photo will be displayed at the Volunteer Vancouver office.

The night was a huge success.  The Vancouver crowd beat the 5000 hour goal by pledging over 6000 volunteer hours. Also, an amazing $17,000 will be invested into the careers of Vancouver-based artists.  This event goes to prove that a little time goes along way!
