So 2009 has been a very busy year for Static Photography , so busy that there has yet to be a post since the NYE update. Our first trip in February of this year was Mercedes–Benz New York Fashion Week in the amazing city of NYC. Static photography traveled with local Vancouver fashion writers/bloggers Shallom Johnson of Stylefinds Terri Potratz and of The Conveyor Belt .
With an onslaught of blog posts, tweets and flickr uploads, the Vancouver presence was known at NYFW. Shallom, Terri and Kris also chose to represent the amazing local fashion coming out of the lower mainland by wearing creations by Vancouver fashion designers during their trip. Kris had the opportunity to shoot many amazing fashion shows of the up and coming collections of some world-renowned fashion designers. He found a spot in the photography pit at Zac Posen , William Rast , Ports 1961 , George Chakra , Erin Fetherston , Lacoste , Miss Sixty , Yigal Azrouél , the Arise African Fashion Collective, the Art Academy Fashion Show and a very special tribute runway show to Barbie ’s 50th Anniversary.
Some of the highlights on the runway and off the runway:
