Wanted: 4 Week Summer Intern for Static Photography
Starting: Second week in July
Job Description: We are looking for a summer intern at Static Photography that would help in adding photos to Wikipedia articles/entries. Kris Krug has over 22,000 photos licensed under Creative Commons on the Flickr website but the job is not as daunting as it seems.
The main requirements of the internship would to properly tag photos in Flickr, research Wikipedia articles/entries that do not have photos and add the properly tagged photos to those articles/entries. This would be a interesting process for you would become very familiar with Flickr, Wikipedia, Creative Commons, as well as Kris' photography catalog, which covers 6+ years of shooting pictures around the world.
Also the Wikipedia research would not be limited to just portraits but could include locations, bands, actors and fashion models.
Requirements:
• an interest in photography
• an interest in the interent
• a Wikipedia account
• a Flickr account
• knowledge of the Flickr interface (tagging, searching, titling)
• knowledge of the Wikipedia interface (editing guidelines)
• a basic knowledge of Creative Commons licensing
• detail-oriented
• sense of humor
Static Photography is an international photography studio based out of Vancouver, BC. Kris Krug is an photographer whose subjects range from musicians to fashion models to business leaders and celebrities. He has shot numerous events including NYFW , 4 years of SXSW Music Festival , and his work has been featured in Rolling Stone and the LA Times . Danielle Sipple is the newest addition to Static Photography as the studio manager. Her main role is managing the workflow of the studio as well as post-production finishing touches.

My name is Lynsey Hayes, I am a professional photography student at The Brooks Institute in Santa Barbara, CA USA. I am originally from Edmonton, AB. I am extremely interested in your internship. Due to my extensive training at Brooks with Digital Workflow, I can bring a little extra to the table. I have taken numerous advanced courses dealing with CS5 as well as preparing images for web. I have taken classes with Photoshop guru's Chris Orwig and Bruce Burkhardt, both of which have contributed to the development of the program itself. I would love to be an intern and I'm quite familiar with Flickr, I would be able to make time to commit to this for the summer.I have not taken formal training in photography, besides a class I took in high school. Otherwise I have a passion for photography and capturing memorable moments. I have taken photos recently from India, I could show you. Your internship definitely
Your internship definitely intrigues me. I'm a student over at UBC, but currently I'm working for the summer. I've taken photography classes at Focal Point Studios, with Kathryn Mussallem. I've also taken various classes with my own university and with the alma mater society. Rate now, I'm at the beginning of my career and trying to find an internship at a photography company. I have a strong work ethic, which I got from tree planting for two summers, and a dry sense of humor (also from tree planting). I hope to hear from you soon, about any opportunities at your company.
This internship definately
This internship definately intrigues me, if the opportunity is still presented. I'm still a student so I have a flexible schedule. I've taken a basic photography course in school, however my true passion in photography lies in genetics. My dad was an experimental photographer for 7 years, and he's passed down a lot of tips. I'm technologically familiar, and I can learn quickly. As for photography, I haven't done anything professional at this point, however due to my side interest in travelling I have a lot of international personal photography.
