In April Vancouver hosted its biannual Vancouver Fashion Week at Chapel Arts. Seasoned and emerging designers were given a chance to show from their Fall/Winter 2008 collections to an accepting audience of buyers, media, fashionistas, and photographers. Veteran Anna Sui brought in a packed house the first night with a stunning showing from her fall/winter line.
Some cold wet Saturday's in Vancouver it's just plain hard to get rolling. To fire up our creative juices this weekend, Static pulled together a shoot with aspiring models Margaret Torgerson, Jordan Petryk and Bill MacEwan to build up their portfolios and have some fun.
We recently had the chance to do a fun fashion editorial photoshoot with Natalie Pagnucco. We used several impromtu Vancouver photoshoot locations including an alley along Water Street in Gastown, and Matthew Good's apartment.
Kdon over at Discollection is an amazing designer and stylist. I've been using her for lots of Static Photography shoots lately and was even more impressed than usual in the job she did styling the Ashley-Rae photoshoot with awesome designer vintage clothes from her store.
Recently I had the chance to do a photoshoot with models Lenore Owens and Mitchell Bowman in Gastown that we ended up jokingly calling "Screamo".
I recently had the chance to shoot for Denyss Halo of The Black Halos and have a 2nd booking with the whole band coming up soon.
I've been meaning to post to this site for a while a few shoots I've worked on in the past couple months including this one with kdon of Discollection and the Torgerson sistas - Margie and Petrina. Thanks to Shai again for doing hair for this shoot. Shai's got a great new blog too BTW - you should check it out at ShaiStyle.com. Oh yeah, Kim's got one too.
