Back in March, Static Photography's Kris Krug had an opportunity to shoot the legendary musical group R.E.M. in Austin, Texas during the SXSW 2008 music conference and festival. The festival showcased 1800 bands at 80+ venues around Austin.
Static has been photographing South by Southwest for 5 years now and has been lucky to meet many of our favorite musicians. This year one of Kris’ shots of Michael Stipe (R.E.M) was published on the front cover of the New York Press, a weekly newspaper dishing out the latest in music, film, dinning and more.
